About the Event
Welcome to our International Day of Yoga
2014 The United Nations recognized and proclaimed the 21st June as the International Day of Yoga. This day aims to raise awareness to the many benefits of practicing Yoga. An ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice bringing the global community together to honor the meaning of the word "yoga" which is to create Union.
Originating from India, this precious gifts was given by the Sages to Humankind. Yoga is not just a set of exercises to keep the body fit but a passport to health, a key to fitness and wellness.
This year we bring the diverse yoga community of Regina and surrounding areas together to practice as one and honor that meaning of Yoga - UNION.
The International Day of Yoga means:
to celebrate the gift of yoga; to practice as one; to give back and to raise funds and create awareness that develops a healthy community and projects wellness into the lives of many.
We have chosen the NUCDF and the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital as our service in giving back. Both these foundations do amazing work in taking care of our little ones who suffer rare diseases, they walk the road that fights, and work tirelessly to bring information/research and treatments that help save lives daily. Please take a moment to learn about these foundations by watching the posted videos or clicking on their links and PLEASE HELP BY DONATING GENEROUSLY. We Thank You!
You will have the opportunity to try various different styles of practice and sample amazing, creative and beautiful goods from our local small businesses that encourage Love, Life and Nature.
A free event where participants are encouraged to give back by donating and supporting our small local businesses.
