About the Event
Going back to the root of Yoga. This 4 Part Series will cover essential yoga practices over 4 weeks as set our below:
- Build a fundamental foundations that will develop your yoga practice to deliver deeper enhancement and sustainable results. Going back to basic foundations, learn about the bandhas - it's relationship and the magic it brings to your practice. Understand how the Drishtis evoke focus and inward awareness to enhance your practice. Infuse your practice with the 8 Limbs of Yoga.
- Finding balance through the Ebbs and Flows. Balance at the best of times can be difficult. Some days we have perfect balance, others we are wiggly, wobbly and jiggly. Discover the emotions that are released in transitions from flowing poses to balance on your mat. Discover stillness and uncover Balance with Movement.
- The Breath Connection - Pranayama. What is it? How does it work and why should it be a part of my practice? Pranayama is the 4th Limb of Yoga and essential to each and every yoga practice. This introduction will introduce breathing techniques to de-stress, to cleanse, to cool-down, to create heat but most importantly to Awaken Our Life Force. We will learn how to use these techniques in our practice and also in our daily lives.
- Mindful Meditations - Dhyana, the 7th Limb of Yoga. We can experience Dhyana in various ways from seated meditations to Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) and also through our Yoga practice as a moving meditation. Learn to utilize the control of the Breath and Bandhas to create energy and flow from pose to pose in your own moving meditation.
This workshop will be presented in English but will also introduce Sanskrit - the language of Yoga.
